I recently had the pleasure of dining at Toby Carvery in The Colder Newport, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor was charming, and it set the perfect tone for a cosy meal.
The highlight of my visit was, without a doubt, the carvery! The selection of meats was impressive, and everything was cooked to perfection. I opted for the roast beef,turkey and pork it was so tender and bursting with flavour. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering generous portions and ensuring that my plate was packed with all the delicious sides – the Yorkshire puddings were a standout!
What made the experience even more enjoyable was the uplifting vibe among the diners. It felt like a gathering place for friends and families, making it a fun spot to enjoy a meal. On various occasions when I've been here, I've noticed that the atmosphere is always lively, making it an ideal place to share good food and laughter.

Staff very friendly ,had very nice meal , found on visiting before they seem to have cut back on the meat,a little mean ,but couldn't fault this visit,they gave enough to satisfy our appetites.

Love going here. Food is always beautifully cooked and great selection of vegetables. We are a group of " ladies who lunch " and go here every month. A lovely roast for us all.

We visited the toby carvery (Coldra) today for Sunday lunch, the service from Josh was brilliant. He was very polite and helpful. Would definitely return again!

If there was an option of selecting zero on here, I would. First impressions should have triggered an alarm bell. The carpark looked neglected along with the yellow spray paint warning of paving slabs, which were loose next to the entrance to the restaurant.
Staff were grumpy and as warm as the food in welcoming us to the restaurant.
The plates were completely worn out. Originally, they would have been white, now resembling blackened scratched plates.
The sausages were overcooked. All of the food was barely Luke warm. The diced potatoes and bacon were totally inedible. We decided to leave the breakfast mostly untouched. Only saving grace was the extremely small hot chocolate. In comparison, most supermarkets and Wetherspoon pubs give better quality food and at a fraction of the cost. My advice go to other food chains.

Didn't pre book so ended up sitting by the bar which is fine if you like the smell of dirty toilets. The whole place needs a bit of refresh
